Your English speaking driver and Official Licensed guide will meet you at your hotel in the city centre or any other place as previously arranged then you will make your way to Ostia Antica, about 40 minutes south of Rome, for a walking tour through the archaeological site of the Imperial Roman port. The city of Ancient Ostia lies at the mouth of the Tiber river and was founded as the very first colony of Rome in the 6th century BC and later on totally abandoned in the 6th century AD. Its buildings, blocks, villas, thermal baths, temples of all religions, restaurants, public toilets tell us the history of common people day-life in roman times. The tour of the excavation generally takes about 2/3 hours for a standard visit of the most important public buildings such as the Forum, the Thermal Baths, the Horrea, the Bakeries of 2nd century AD, the Mithreum of the Thermae, an underground temple for mystic rituals, the domus, roman villas of the rich families, the insulae, the mid-classes people homes very well preserved, and the Roman Theatre, build in the 1st century BC, one of Ancient Rome best preserved theatre still in use today.. You will enjoy the quiet and the superb atmosphere of one of the largest archaeological areas you may found in Italy.

- if possible wear or take with you comfortable shoes even if walking is limited.
- watch out for your wallet and bags; it is recommended not to wear valuable jewelry.

- Entrance to Ostia ruins 6,50 Euro per person (closed on Mondays).

For more passengers we use additional vehicles due to the strict Italian laws and regulations about public transportation carrying more than 8 people, in any case don’t hesitate to contact us for a quote.
Note that the driver-guide will not enter sites although giving explanations from the vehicle of what you are seeing. Only Official Licensed Guides are allowed to escort you inside places and, on your request, we can provide such service at an extra cost. The vehicle will accompany you for the entire tour.
To book our Shared Tours you have to pre-pay the lowest fee by credit card as guarantee then paying the balance due, if any depending on total number of people in the group, at the end of service with cash money. We don’t accept credit cards as a form of payment on the day of service, we only accept cash in Euro and/or US$; if US$ we will give you the exchange rate of the day before the service increased by 5 cents.
Important notice: once you join or create a Group booking the service with your credit card payment, your Shared Tour is confirmed with us, even if you do not reach the maximum number of people, and the price per person only depends on the final Group size.
